Our Groups: Liturgy Team

Liturgical celebrations are at the heart of our parish community. Here at St Joseph the Worker, the focus is on the Sunday eucharist and the important place of music at the 10.30am Mass which enables us to lift our hearts in prayer and praise. Anthony Schiavone is our Music Coordinator and Yvette Milani our lead singer who together are building up a talented group of singers and musicians. We want to continue to make St Joseph the Worker the place where music and liturgy is prayerful, engaging and inspiring especially for young people.

The Sunday eucharist is the source and summit of all we do in the parish, our sacrament of unity and personal encounter with the Jesus the Risen Lord. Just like the early church, we too are his disciples, nourished by God’s word and the gift of the eucharist and sent as witnesses to the power of God’s love in our daily lives.

At St Joseph the Worker, we have a dedicated Liturgy Team who wok hard to foster a spirit of prayerfulness, celebration, reverence and belonging in all our liturgical celebrations. At Christmas and Easter there is a particular emphasis on inviting our young people to me more active in our celebrations. Every week our various liturgical ministries can be seen at work in our parish community – readers, ministers of the eucharist, altar servers, singers, welcomers, people involved in the offertory procession, children’s liturgy, welcoming people for a cuppa after Mass once a month.
